alpha Kappa Delta Phi and NAPA Announces Partnership With RAINN

alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc. is pleased to announce it is partnering with RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, to bring sexual misconduct and allyship training to its members.

'We are so grateful for this opportunity with RAINN. We recognize that there have been issues plaguing our community and college campuses, and this partnership marks a pivotal moment for us," said Brenda Dang, Chairman of the Board of Directors for alpha Kappa Delta Phi. "Sexual violence has no place in our society. This partnership takes us one step closer to our commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of each and every one of our members."

RAINN subject-matter experts will develop and deliver a tailored training that addresses topics of sexual misconduct prevention and response, bystander intervention strategies, and how to support survivors after a disclosure. The RAINN training will be offered starting in mid-October on various days of the week and times of the day to ensure all members who are interested in attending, can sign up for a session that works with their availability.

"College-age adults are at higher risk for sexual violence,” said Clara Kim, vice president of consulting services at RAINN. According to a study by the Association of American Universities, 23.1% of female and 5.4% of male undergraduates experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation. “We're pleased to have this opportunity to collaborate with alpha Kappa Delta Phi and the National APIDA Panhellenic Association to reach their broad network of members with targeted education and resources geared toward this especially vulnerable age group. It's critical that college students know the steps they can take to help create a safer and more respectful campus and to support their peers who may be affected by this pervasive issue.”
