According to the Asian & Pacific Islander American Vote website, nearly 7 million AAPIs are eligible to vote. In 2004, nearly 3 million did so. APIAVote is a national nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, whose mission is to "encourage and promote civic participation of Asian Pacific Islander Americans in the electoral and public policy processes at the national, state and local levels." To do this, the organization promotes voter education and outreach in AAPI communities. Learn more about getting involved or voter registration here.
"Be the one to save a life." The Asian American Donor Program is a non-profit organization that promotes the registration of minority individuals into the BeTheMatch donor registry (operated by the National Marrow Donor Program). The current registry has more than 7 million registered donors. However, only 25% of the current U.S. National Registry consists of Ethnic Minorities (Asian, Pacific Islander, African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Multi-Race). AADP is dedicated to helping save the lives of patients with life threatening blood diseases curable by a stem cell transplant. Learn more on their official website.
