CUNY Baruch chapter raises over almost $6K toward Relay for Life

As an interest group at City University of New York Baruch, "The Essence of an Aspiring Sisterhood" (T.E.A.S.) was able to raise over $5,000 to capture second place in amount raised for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The group, now officially recognized as the 46th chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi, set out to surpass that amount this year for the April 23 event.

After holding fundraisers such as a Relay for Life Dinner at Room 18 in SoHo, numerous bake sales, and a Free Hugs event with Lambda Phi Epsilon, the chapter was able to secure the first runner-up title once again, out of 86 teams. Team Captain Victoria Lee relayed in honor of her grandmother, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and able to overcome this to become cancer-free. With a $2,500 goal listed on the fundraising site, Victoria was able to individually raise $4,170.01 as the event's top participant. Collectively, Baruch aKDPhi raised a total of $5,772.35 to donate to the American Cancer Society. The top fundraising teams were recognized as official sponsors on the event shirts, featuring alpha Kappa Delta Phi. Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment!
